How do you deal with haters?

So I use this social networking site, kind of like Facebook, and I talk and post my videos there too. I have a select few people who are set on just mocking my videos. I then make the mistake of lashing out. Which I know is super bad. I'm going to start calmly dealing with problems or just ignoring them, but I'm curious, what are your personal ways to deal with haters?

The reason that they keep hating on you is because you are giving them what they want. Attention. The only way you can stop them is if you don't even respond.

Why are they making such an effort to make fun of you? Probably because they're jealous that you have the confidence to make videos while they're so insecure they have to make such an effort to dedicate time and effort to make fun of you... talk about obsessive weirdos!
But you can always enjoy the free publicity! Haters will make you more famous. :)

Those actions will make you feel much better.

And remember- they hide behind a computer screen so the outside world won't see their insecurities, and lash out with words intending to hurt others. Once you look past their mean comments you'll see they're just pathetic, sad, insecure, and undeserving of your attentions- you'll realize they're simply not worth your time.

I just realize that I actually watch your videos on YouTube! Girl, don't worry about the haters because you are absolutely fabulous and your videos are great, I love them! They are obviously just jealous of you! You're so pretty and seem like a very sweet girl! Don't let them get to you! Let them sit behind a computer screen talking crap wishing they had as much confidence as you do putting yourself out there for the whole internet to see!

Yeah, just ignore them like previously stated. You can't let it get to you because that's what they want, a response. You're always going to have someone try and drag you down, but what matters most is if you pick yourself back up and continue.

i LOVE them, they're all comedians and they're hilarious. but I do not give them the satisfaction of knowing that they were noticed, that they were bothering me, or anything. I think its just best to not say anything at all, with no reaction eventually they'll get bored and screw off.

I usually feel badly for trolls because they are so unhappy with themselves, that they feel the need to try and belittle others. Confident people have no need to put others down. A person who cares will be more empathetic and offer positive criticism, without the "no offence" or blatant insults.

I worked as an auditor for 4 years, and no one likes auditors, but I learned not to take any of their attacks to heart because it really wasn't about me. It was about their situation.

I try to make an effort to respond to every comment, and a few of them are trolls. So either I respond politely or if they're really asking for it, I respond with a smart joke.

I just block them and delete their comment, i also remember all the kind things people say and that i can't win everyone over and also there are some people who are just bored and angry and try to tear other down, don't pay any attention to them just remember all the positive feedback you get :)

I don't think it completely fair calling them 'haters' sure they aren being very nice to you and insulting you, but your just lashing back at them by calling them a hater which can make you look like the cyber bully sometimes because maybe this person was just having a bad day, you shouldnt feed that flame. Just kill em' with kindness :)

As everyone has already mentioned, the best thing to do is to ignore them! They are trying to get a "rise" out of you and it's working. Don't let them win! I know it's hard to not respond.

I sometimes read the comments that are left on other peoples' videos and I want to respond to them myself. I can't believe people can be so cruel and hateful! In the end we all have to remember that these people are just miserable people and are not worth our time!

Continue on with your vids sweetie! Don't let anyone bring you down!

Q: How to deal with haters you ask?
A: Know who YOU are! Do not, I repeat, do not let other people's opinion of you define who you are. People will always have something to say about you regardless of what you are doing and how you are progressing in life. Their opinions should not matter if you are secure with YOU! Honey haters are going to be haters! Always..It is sad that is has to be that way but, that’s life. You need to just move on and do what you do best, be who you are and keep doing your thing. I used to take it personal. I'd get mad, sad...... you know the "Who the eff do they think they are..." thoughts would run through my head. "I worked hard on that"......

Then I thought A) why am I getting so emotionally involved with someone that I have never even met?! B) You can't please everyone (if I explode over 1 person being rude, how will I handle criticism when my blog blows up and I'm famous!!) hehe B) When people open their mouths (or use their fingers) to say something bad about someone else, they're really talking about themselves.

I have used that last one throughout my whole life - it helps me decipher what people are really saying.  xoxo
