For spot cleaning I love MAC's cleanser. You don't need much and it dries quickly. Just be sure you purchase a spray bottle so you don't pour out too much. For deep cleaning, I use antibacterial liquid soap and olive oil.

If you just want to spot cleanse, then I recommend MAC's Brush Cleanser. If you want to do a deep clean use a shampoo that is really basic (such as baby shampoo). Make sure that you only get the hairs of the brush wet though or else mold will start growing and you'll have to throw brushes away.

also a neat trick I learned from my mom, if you have a lot of brushes and you get them wet and need them to dry, take a line of duct tape and put the brushes on it at least an inch or two apart from one another on each side and then hang the duct tape vertically on a wall w the brush hairs all facing down, this helps all of the water to drip off of them so they dry better and they dont dry all funny shaped, also you wont get mold :]

Ben Nye's brush cleaner. It's kind of pricey for just brush cleaner, but it cleans well, dries quickly and doesn't leave any film or ANY product behind.

MAC brush cleanser for spot cleaning and Dawn Antibacterial dish soap for deep cleaning. I put a little olive oil on them before washing to moisturize and help remove makeup better. I use brush guards when drying them.

I use Enkore's brush cleaning recipe w/ a few of my own substitutions, but you can do this by watering down any cleanser of your choice to make your own foaming cleanser. I made a video/demo:

you can use anti-bacteria soap or any shampoo (make sure the formula is not too harsh, otherwise might cause damages to your brushes). After getting rid of dirt and old make up,swirl them into some olive oil (this works as a conditioner). To finish the process, wash them with warm water and let them dry naturally.
Good luck :)

For spot cleaning I use MAC cleanser, it lasts me forever and dries so quickly!
For everyday regular cleaning, I use an anti-bacterial soap (nothing fancy) and warm water =)
