So I have fungus under my big toenail and would like to know if any home remedies or something of that sort I can do because I dnt want to take the oral medication because they have serious side effects.

If the fungus is actually under the nail, topical creams won't treat it. It will just keep coming back. Your doctor can diagnose the problem and give you a better solution. The oral antifungals generally aren't too bad if you have a healthy liver. I took them for six months with no side effects. The downside is, they are expensive!
In the meantime, white vinegar or Epsom salt soaks will help alleviate the symptoms.
