What girl doesn't like wearing ratings? It's.perfectly fine and actually better to do as a baby so that it hurts less and they will forget all about it in a few.min just give them Tylenol and it knocks them.right out. If they are older like over 2 it'll be worse.

So my daughter has had her ears pierced since she was 2 months. Now that she likes to play and get dirty(she's 5yrs old) we only put them in on dress up days. BUT if I leave them out for too long they do start to close, so I think they would close all the way if she absolutely wanted them to.

I think it's fine if the parents are responsible enough to allow the piercing to be done with a needle, not a gun. Not only does a gun hurt more, the act of forcing a blunt object through skin causes more physical damage than a needle. Additionally, the jewelry that gun piercers have to offer is typically mixed-metal, which can cause bad reactions among some individuals and prolong healing time. A piercer with a good reputation is your safest bet. If the child does not want to wear earrings in the future, he or she can always just let the hole close up.

Also, a problem with piercing young is that the hole may migrate as the child grows older. That's how some people end up with holes too close to the bottom of their ears, or off-centered. Parents should also be responsible enough to go through with complete follow-up care. For any piercing, that means warm sea salt soaks about 2-3 times a day, and making sure the child does not touch the jewelry at all. Proper piercing care should be followed, not the advice given by gun piercers at Claire's or booths or anything - they're not as knowledgeable in the piercing field as professionals are. Piercings shouldn't really take months to heal. A couple weeks at most should be enough time for it to be ready for piercing changes if necessary, provided that proper care was followed.

I was 3 months old when I got them done. At like 6 I stopped wearing earrings and let my holes close up. Then 2 years ago I got them repierced through the same hole. I think its fine if you get them done when youre a baby. I don't see any harm.

I would never do that to a child. I see body modification, including earrings, as a personal decision based on self-image. I would never force my version of "pretty" on my child by putting HOLES in their flesh. Sure, you can take them out. But there's no guarantee they will close, won't scar, and will stay clean/infection free. There just is no point in doing it if they aren't old enough to appreciate it/want it.

My SON which is 2yrs old has his ear done ithink its fine and ialso think that if they get it when there younger they will like it wen the get older cuz they get use to it and I'm goin to get my other sons ear done too ilike it ithink there's nothing wrong with it

The actual problemi is that the hole does grow out with the ear and ends up being really stretched and really low!! Other than that I just believe that everyone should decide for themselves if they want their ears pierced
