I dunno about it. My friend had her ears pierced as a baby and now (she's 16 almost 17) the piercings are crooked :S

I think their fine! I got my ears pierces when I was 6 months old and I actually appreciated it because I don't have to worry abut piercing them now and going through that pain. And everyone does heal differently my ears haven't closed and I lasted more than a year without wearing earrings.

I personally had mines peirced as a baby and when I got my ears peirced on the top or tip or 2 hole it didnt Hurt that bad so if the parent think eating will look cut on their baby then well that's what they think I agree with @ yo gabba G.

My daughter is 8mths old & I have yet to pierce her ears. I feel like she should be able to make that decision on her own, so we will wait until she's old enough to know what she wants.

Everyone has great points. I think it looks quite cute on a baby but then I think what if the child doesn't want them or dislikes them, but I didn't know it was easy to close them up. But I also think the child will probably end up loving them and feeling girly and everything. Hmm I'm still in the middle haha :)

It should be the child's choice.

I wouldn't personally do it. I would wait until they decided they wanted them. plus since a baby's ear is so small they have to do it in the middle, so it could cause a problem if they want a second hole. My friend couldn't because of the placing of hers.

The thing is: the pain doesn't hurt much. And you can't get a internal infection without seeing it at least.. I dunno, you can wait until the child has the choice or you can do it and allow them to have the choice to close it up. Everyone makes choices for their child and ear piercings are part of the choices.

I personally would never do it. If my child decides on their own that they'd like their ears pierced, then I'm all for it but I wouldn't make that decision for them when they're not even old enough to understand what's going on or to make the decision on their own.

I think it's adorable. I guess I don't see it as a big deal. Even if the don't close, so what? Piercing holes are hardly noticeable.

I had my ears pierced as a baby. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I don't wear earrings now but when I wanna for special occasions the hole never closes so I can :p.

I don't like it. Aesthetically and as an idea. The kid must choose on her own about anything concerning her body. Plus, you risk infection as the kid can't take proper care of the piercing and you also risk getting them done crooked.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it and it looks adorable! But I remember my aunt taking me to the mall to have it done as a 7th birthday present and its such a nice memory!

It depends on each parent. I have 2 daughters and I had their ears pierced when they were each 5 months old. Neither had an infection.

They look cute on babies but if I had a daughter I don't know if I would pierce her ears, just on preference. Luckily I have a son! But wtf is this crap about "its the child's decision"...?! I'm a parent and I can tell you that my son, at 3, has a limited amt of decisions he can make, Haha. I am his MOM and until he's 18, he's going to listen me and his father, period. Haha I am a mean mommy;) Old school! This is also why he does what he's told and doesn't make much trouble, cause he knows mommy and daddy are the bosses. He asks before he gets into anything and doesn't throw a fit when we say no. Until these kids are old enough to at least talk, nothing is really their decision. If the baby grows up to dislike pierced ears, she can take them out, right?
