African black soap. Sounds crazy but it works. My boyfriend has reaaaalllly bad acne and gets red splotches over his face, with fair he is it's not hard to notice. But after a week of using it his face started to clear up a lot. I use it and it takes care of my minor acne.

I get it from my local beauty mart but it can also be bought off amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0015347LY/ref=aw_d_var_2nd_beauty_img?vs=1

In the mean time I do recommend going to a dermatologist.

You should try natural treatments before going medical, don't just jump to a cream or wash they'll prescribe you. Ask them for ways to take care of your skin.

Accutane...my husband had horrible acne...boils the size of dollar coins! He had permanent scarring from his acne but, accutane took it away.

Like, it's not going to be in a Sally's, Ulta, or Sephora. As bad as this is about to sound, you'd need to go into a black beauty supply store run by Asians. Sounds bad but trust me when I say that's what to look for. That or an african braiding shop as sometimes they sell the soap as well if they sell products.

Have you gone to a dermatologist? I went and he prescribed me an antibiotic and it worked great! It's called ampicillin.

I agree with Mikayla on this one. Personally I do not struggle with acne but I do struggle from a disorder called dermatillomania which is a form of anxiety driven OCD. It's a chronic form of skin picking. Often my skin is raw, irritated, inflamed and many times I do get a break out here and there from the spread of bacteria on my face from all the picking. I have done extensive research on my skin problem and how to manage and heal it fast and effectively. Along the way I have picked up a lot of information regarding other skin types including acne prone skin. I think the most important thing in finding a way to rid your acne is to discover the SOURCE of your personal acne. People have acne for many different reasons and everyone is different. First, find out what the root of your problem is.. May it be hormones, diet, stress, irritating products etc.
It's important to be informed of the facts regarding acne. Many people think that products which are drying and abrasive will help their acne when many Of these actually cause further inflammation and MORE acne. Over washing the facial skin and being too harsh with the delicate skin irritates the pores and causes more acne.many people also believe that oily skin is the cause of their acne when it is not. In reality their acne is causing the oiliness. The oil which is called sebum is actually very healthy for your skin and is used as a defense mechanism when you have breakouts. Without it your skin would be in some deep trouble. Instead of stripping the skin and causing more irritation and acne be GENTLE, use natural products and do not strip the skin of oil. When you do the skin tries to compensate and creates more..

Have you thought about accurate? I know it's a pretty harsh step but from what I know about it personally your acne is almost non existent after you do it. It does have to be prescribed through a dermatologist or doctor but its a sure fire way to clean up breakouts for good.

Furthermore, I want to offer a suggestion for you which many people who have the same problem as you have found extremely helpful. Grape seed oil. Yes I know you might think.. Why the hell would I put more oil on my already oily skin!? Grape seed oil is proven to be effective for those with acne prone / oily skin. It is rich in vitamins and oils and has restructuring qualities. The GSO is known for its high amount of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory qualities (which is a huge part of the process of acne!) it has an astringent property which tightens and tones the skin and helps cells turn over more quickly. SO instead of opting for all those harsh chemicals and abrasive tools be gentle and use grape seed oil. Try the oil washing method at night. On dry skin massage some of the grape seed oil on the skin and let sit for several minutes. With a warm, wet wash cloth open the pores by laying the cloth on the skin until it cools and then rise and wipe away all the excess oil. You will be amazed at how well the approach will work. I am very sorry for the insanely long posts but I wanted to be as helpful as possible!! I wish you the best of luck :)
