I don't know whether this is the same as yours or if it is because I don't know what it looks like in person but I have keratotia pliasoris which is also known as chicken skin, it is quite common amongst teens and women, it is lots of hard spots sometimes quite red anywhere on the body mostly on the back of the arms, skin near the allow and on the thighs and legs(:

Its actually called& spelled keratosis pilaris- but without a picture none of us can really tell? It could deff be keratosis... I have it on my arms and all it is, is too much keratin buildup inside your skin (which is what keeps/makes your skin& hair soft) but its expressed in tiny red bumps on your skin- if this is what you have what will help a lot is sunlight (safely obviously) but my dermatologist told me sunbathing for a half hour a week or tanning once a week will help so much to dry out the skin and the coloring/tan will help make the less noticeable honestly. Also exfoliate!! Do it daily with an exfoliating body scrub with smaller beads and then once a week deeply exfoliate with one that has bigger beads that will be more rough and buff out your skin and remove not only the dead lawyers but will help to scrub off the head or tops of the bumps- and don't try to pop them! It won't work and you'll just make yourself bleed as well as scab/scar! Also make sure to keep moisturizing your skin so much, the more the better- and here's some pictures of what keratosis looks like on legs- if that's not it I recommend you post a picture of what you have and I can help you better!
