Loose powder shadows- the bane of my existence! how do you use them correctly? I always end up with a big mess! :( lol.

I just use a good primer & base

I just have problems applying it. when I use a brush, it flies everywhere, even if I tap off the excess. I've tried using my fingers, but then I don't get the pigmentation I want.

Maybe I need higher quality brushes? someone told me there's some kind of trick with the cap? why do some have those second plastic caps with the holes? lol.

Just barely get any product on the brush and press it into your base sometimes I still get a lil fallout but I just clean it off with a Qtip.

Place a tissue under your eye and it should catch any excess shadow

I dip my brush in water, remove the excess, and dip into the loose eye shadow. I believe the technique is called foiling. It helps make the color glide on smooth :)

Pat the color on instead of swiping it. When I use powder pigment, I use nyx jumbo pencils as a sticky base, and then back the powder on until I get a good intensity.
Or try applying the pigment on with a mixing medium and then setting it with the powder itself. That makes it vibrant!

They have the little plastic with the holes so you won't get that much pigment and it won't go all over the place but it dosent work when its on your purse lol.

I avoid using loose powder, stick to pressed, so much easier and less messy.

Spray your brush with regular or rose water and then dip and dab the polish. the water will evaporate leaving just the polish on your lid (make sure to prime before hand!)
