My hair is super straight naturally when I want curls the night before I sleep with sponge rollers then curl with my wand in the morning I use light hairspray on each part before curling and pin it up to let the curl cool and it last all day for me :) hope this helps.

This is what I do with my Karmin Clipless and it might work for you. Put some light holding heat protectant spray on the piece of hair you're going to curl and wrap it around the barrel for 5 seconds or more. Not more than 10 seconds because you'll damage your hair. Then, pin up the curl and go on to the next piece of hair. Once the pinned up curls are cool, let them down and use a teeny bit of holding spray. Don't use too much product or it will weigh down on the curls and flatten them.
