I had light golden brown haircolor by Loreal 5.3. I wanted to go a bit darker so I dyed it Chocolate by Loreal Mega Browns. Now its a bit red since it was a violet-red base. Although its very subtle I still want to get rid of these red tones. I need to do this tonight. Any suggestions? BTW I'm terrified of doing anything ash.

Use the black malva color shampoo and conditioner. It will do exactly what you want without damaging your hair.

Melanie I've used it and its amazing. The problem is it's time to do the roots again and I need to find a hair dye to stick to.

Or, not just the tones you have now?

If I did the chocolate again I'm going to get red roots and I don't want that. I was thinking about a medium brown with a neutral base. The red tones are not that bad so I think that might do the job.

You should use a color that has a green base the next time. green cancels out red. you must have red undertones in your hair so by using a base with red in it, its going to intensify those reds in your hair. I found this site the other day and it has everything you ever wanted to know about everything hair. www.hairfinder.com.
