They are a type of vase filler; you can get glass marbles, flat glass stones, colored sand, etc. Craft stores, supermarkets with a craft section (e.g. Walmart), and dollar stores carry them with the floral supplies.

I don't know either lol I would jus call them lil balls hahha.. I use rice it helps my brushes stand good..all my friends use it some ppl think its gross but I don't know I love it.

They are called "gems", "stones" or "crystals" or simply decorative balls. I found some at Walmart, Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, not so much some cradt stores except Michaels.
