Every night, I get to sleep around 10-12pm and for the past month or so, I've had really abnormal sleep patterns. I have to wake up for school at 6:45am and from about 3am up until then, it's horrible! I wake up at 3am, fall asleep then wake up at like 3:30 then 4 then 4:15 then 4:30 and more frequently until 6:45am where I wake up and fall asleep in chunks of like 10 min!! Do you guys know what's causing this and how to stop it? My mum won't let me use sleeping pills probably but if worst comes to the worst Ill ask her! Thanks.

If there's something worrying you, write it down!
Don't do any work at least an hour before going to bed.
Don't drink any caffeinated drinks for a while.
Don't be in your room before you go to bed.
Have a nice relaxing shower or bath.
Make sure your room is dark enough.
Do enough exercise in the day so you are tired when you go to bed.
Sleeping in a messy room can be hard so keep it clean and tidy!

Hope this helped! They are just the things I do as I had the exact same problem!! Good luck! :)

When I was diagnosed with severe depression. I couldn't sleep at all meaning I'd be up till 6 in the morning
but my medication ans therapy helped me go to sleep. But of you think you have mild depression it might be that, our moods thoughts and bodies vary. I'm sure you know what could be the bother, best to write it down like Molly says. maybe if you can't sleep, preoccupy yourself with something. they say that a bit of lavender essential oil could help calm a person to sleep. but it smells pretty strong. the only thing that personally works for me during those sleepless days is just telling myself not to worry about falling asleep pronto, I'd watch some stuff or read something and gradually fall asleep.

And yes depression has a lot to do with our sleeping patterns.

Excercise during the day. try not to have any caffeinated drinks after 10am. seek help if you're stressed about something. a cup of chamomile tea half hour before planning to go to bed can help. try going to bed a bit later, less hours of solid sleep is better for you and will leave you feeling better than many hours of broken sleep.

Hun I recommend you see a doctor ASAP. I went through same thing few years back n it got worse till I saw my doctor n went on sleeping pills n offcourse was diagnosed with depression.. Talk to your family about issues you might b having or see a therapist helps a lot. Gud luck Hun :)

It sounds like depression or anxiety. You need to see a professional ASAP

I used to have a hard time getting to sleep and then the littlest sound would wake me up because about a year before that I was in a house were there were ants and I'm terrified of them. so I became paranoid then the house I'm in now has a bad mosquito problem in the area so to help me sleep I used to stay off all electronic at least an hour before bed so I would sit down with a cup of camomile and a book read for a bit and then get into bed with a piece of material with some lavender oil on it. hope this helps you.

Agree with the ladies. when I had severe depression I had sleeping troubles too. so maybe that's your only problem! :) btw, if you ever need anyone to talk to or just listen, I'd be glad to be there for you! <3.

Melatonin works too. its naturally in your body but you can buy different milligram doses in the vitamin section of stores. it helps promote sleep. I suffer from high anxiety and depression and can't sleep without it.
