So I purchased the Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask, and I liked it the first few times I used it, but after not using it for a little over a week, when I put it on, my face burned for a while. I've ready many reviews of it, and the burning sensation seemed common, but later in the day, my face was very itchy. This did not happen my first few uses, so I'm not sure what to think :P Any similar experiences? Could I have suddenly become allergic to it?

Maybe you're allergic to one of the ingredients but I wouldn't use Mint Julep every day, that could be the cause of the irritation. I use mine once a week lol.

But definitely check the ingredients :)

You really shouldn't be using that everyday. It's a treatment. Once a week should be enough :)

Don't use it everyday, your skin may have gotten sensitive due to the.constant use.

I had the same problem as you with that stuff, and it only got worse.

Most definitely not the item to use EVERYDAY! Your skin is getting a detox treatment pretty much so it's very sensitive to certain products or too much of the same products. That's one thing I had to learn with my Clarisonic.

I didn't use it everyday. Also- I keep it in my bathroom cabinet, so I don't thing bacteria could have easily gotten to it. Thank you all for the advice, though.

If you had had some product on your face before you put it on, it may have reacted with it.

I've heard the mint does irritate some. Queen Helene does have a mud pack masque with great pull that smells like roses and is supposed to be the same ingredients as the mint Jules without the mint.

It could be that you already had sensitivity due to something in the environment (cold weather, low or no humidity, gusty wind, etc), and then the strong mask just exacerbated the sensitivity and created irritation. Use a creamy moisturizer and avoid the mask for a week or longer.
