So I have an 2 weddings already booked for next year. I also have come up with their makeups and hair, now... I'm debating on how much I should charge for my job. One of the girls makeup is going to be pretty pin-up and that is just so simple, yet I'm not sure how much to charge her, then the other is more like a smokey eye at the outer corner of the eye blending into much more lighter colors as I move into the inner corner and the lips I was thinking and orangey kinda color, but then again I'm debating how much I should actually charge her. I was actually thinking 50$, just because I know some brides do try to save up as much as possible and they like to see different choices and stuff like that, so I thought combining hair and makeup and reducing a bit of the price would be a good idea and also If I'm needed in th future they would come back to me and such.
I'm just kinda looking for opinions and stuff like that, specially knowing that some of the girls here do this professionally on a daily basis.

But if these are friends/family I think $50 is fine... Pro makeup
= pro cost

I think thats on the really low end for both. In north nj area bridal makeup alone without doing the hair is around 85-125 for the bride .

i think 50 for both is good because u dont want to sit your self up it all depends on if u thank 50 is fine i thank you are going to be fine with 50 dont worry and if the brides like it just think of the business they will bring to you lol

That is too low! Makeup products are a bit pricey, I really think 70 to 80 dollars is fair It is still cheap. So don't sell yourself short doing hair and makeup is not as easy as people think It is. Good luck!

Hair and makeup? An updo (anything with a bobby pin) is around $75 in salons in my area. Makeup can vary, but charge what you think you're worth!

We charge $150 for hair and $150 for airbrush mkup for the bride at my salon, this includes a trial run, then it's $60 for hair for bridesmaids and $80 for mkup. Everyone is charged the same regardless of how simple or elaborate. And it's an extra $15 for lashes. We do atleast 50 weddings a year

I think 50 is too low. Bump the price up a bit. Think about what ur charging for. If ur makeup is on the high end side that alone is reason enough to charge more. Also ur charging for the TIME u spent too. Bump the price up and like some others have suggested include a trial in ur charge. (:

Add an additional price for your time, products, and gas if you are traveling. Do not under sell yourself short. $50 is way too low for both makeup and hair. Do a trial run first. Good luck!

So, I've done makeup professionally for a few years now and our pricing depends on a lot of things. For starters, what quality of product are you using? If I pull Dior or Cle de peau out of my kit, you're gonna pay for that. However, nothing irks me more than someone who charges 150 bucks and pulls out their Coastal Scents 88 palette that was 12 bucks on eBay. THAT is unprofessional. Also, look into the going rate in your area. What are experienced artists charging? Is there a trial run? How far away is the venue? We require a trial run and the bride only gets three tries. We have a non refundable deposit and there's an extra fee for any location that is not within a 20 mile radius. We also charge extra for appts that are earlier than 8 am.
Most of this stuff has come through trial and error, because let me tell you...getting up at 3 am to do a buncha bridesmaids makeup is pretty rough for only 50 bucks...
Think of it this way...in a salon, the bride will pay around 85 bucks for the makeup and a good 100 for the hair...
Hope this helps some!
