I've been in nail recovery for about seven months since I got off acrylics. I've used growth serums, daily moisturizarion and vitamen treatments and my nails are lovely and strong. BUT I have this one nail that is flimsy no matter what. it is also very thin and hurts to put pressure on. How come this happened? what can I do? thanks in advance, sorry about the lengthy question!

Have you been taking vitamins?

I don't take vitamins orally but I do use vitamin serums on my nails.

Get gel nails! You can just do clear so you can paint your nails with regular polish on too and have the gel as a "base." It will make the nail stronger and prevent it from bending and breaking.

Take vitamins orally. There's tons that are great for your nail growth. Don't over moisturize that nail. You can also put a clear coat of nail varnish to make it a bit less flimsy as a quick fix while you wait for it to get stronger.

Vitamins, especially biotin will help! also, don't be fooled by nail strengtheners! just like our hair, we need to condition our nails (: imagine you just used keratin treatments on your hair, it would get brittle and break without moisture. same with your nails, I recommend a conditioner and strengthener in one called Nail Magic. you can pick it up at any Sally store and it comes in a purple box with gold letters, can also be used as a base and top coat

Also, gel is only a temporary solution and won't fix the problem, it will just make it bearable until you have to get them done again. it can get very expensive.

I agree with Hollie! Seche Vite and Nails Inc have brilliant base and top coats, I swear by the Nails Inc one, it is well worth the money! The base coat is called Hyde Park and the top coat is called Kensington Caviar
