I'm a seventeen year old high school senior and aspiring makeup artist.
My dream is attend cosmetology school after H.S graduation and work at MAC while I'm in cosmetology school. I really would love to go to a school JUST for makeup but I can't seem to find one (I am located in Charlotte, NC) and I also here having your full cosmetology license will earn you more.
Basically, I am asking for any advice, support, tips and tricks from ANYONE. How do I get my foot in the door? How do I promote myself? I have recently created an Instagram account to showcase my work. I don't really know anyone who would allow to me to do their makeup for special events or anything. Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated!

I definetly suggest making YouTube tutorials a lot of people get discovered through that. And as for schooling do you have a Capri near you? Thy are very good.

Make flyers and post them up with links to your IG or Facebook anywhere that has information about your work and pricing information. It would also serve you well if you took actual pictures of your work and developed a portfolio.
