Hairstyles for thick coarse hair on a long face.

I have very thick and somewhat coarse straight hair. Pleas give me suggestions that would work for a long face. My hair tanks to be so heavy it won't keep a curl or a wave and drags my face down. I don't have the perfect oblong face that can wear any style- think more Sarah Jessica Parker, thank you!

She is gorgeous Em but I don't think I can pull off such a dramatic look. Her jaw line is also a little more squared off than mine- lucky girl!
