I love MAC brushes just because I have been using them for so long. I recently purchased a Sigma brush for my kit and I love it as well.

I own more Sigma brushes than MAC ones; however, I don't necessarily think Sigma is the better brand.
For eye brushes, I tend to prefer MAC, mostly -- particularly the 239 and 217. I prefer the 239's density and the way it packs on colour to the E55, and I prefer the 217's shorter bristles for blending over the E25.
Face brushes... It's been a very mixed bag for me. I have a MAC 116 that's (IMO) mediocre, a Sigma F05 that can be scratchy sometimes and sheds (I've read the MAC 109 isn't much better for some people), and a Sigma F40 that's soft and easy to use. I think you can go either way in that regard.
That said, I loooooooove the Sigma F80. The closest thing MAC has to it is the 130; however, the 130 is a lot smaller in diameter, and it's not as dense, IMO.
