I'm going to totally go on the opposite side here and say I love gold with navy and think gold would look awesome. Remember to keep it simple for prom. You don't want to go overboard and feel cakey or uncomfortable because you're wearing too much makeup. A shimmery gold color on the lid and maybe a pop of a coral or electric blue to give the look an edge. I found this video that pretty much sums up my idea!

i actually just did a makeup tutorial on my youtube channel of a dark blue and pale gold smokey eye. seeing as your dress is navy, i think it would be perfect. you could swap out the pale gold color for a similar silvery type color. check it out <3 please subscribe if you enjoy because i will be having a give away soon =)
