The speed of hair growth can depend on a few factors but a major one is nutrition. My teacher said that scalp treatments help hair growth by stimulating scalp to achieve blood circulation which helps carry the nutrients to head.. which I am not so sure that is true.. haha, but they feel nice :)

If you got prenatal vitamins and crushed them up in you shampoo or conditioner. That'll help. Also take Vitamins like Centrum, or 1A Day womens. Other than thall all I can tell you in Good nutrients from fruits and veggies and hair growth treatments.

Yeah, apparently if you have a healthy scalp it really helps. I went to my GP before and he said prenatal vitamins aren't all that much. I can't reccomend things, because I'm in the same position. All I know is that on average, from your scalp to just above your shoulders takes two years to grow? It all depends on genetics etc aswell! I know this didn't help, but hope you picked something up from this!

A helthy, moisturized scalp makes all the difference in the world. I use Castor Oil in my roots every once in a while, and the first month that I tried it (using it in my roots every other shower) my hair grew almost two inches! I HIGHLY recommend it, although it does make your hair very greasy. Personally, I think it's worth it. I also put it in my ends mostly every time I wash my hair. I would definitely give it a try. It's pretty cheap for a giant tub and you only need the TINIEST bit of it. Hope this helps:)

At Kayli do you think that would work on my hair (considering me having a different texture)?

To grow my hair I take biotin & I keep my hair cleaned & very moisturized. I wash my hair twice a week. One day I co-wash my hair (washing your hair with just conditioner) & the other I deep condition my hair & I mix my natural oils into it, let it sit in my hair for over an hour then proceed to wash it out using shampoo followed by conditioner. I use castor oil on my scalp after washing it. Also I don't put much heat in my hair. Everyone's hair is different, you have to find out what works best for you.

Candice- I definitely think it would, the main thing it does is moisturize your scalp. Just make sure to use only a little bit until you figure out how much your skin and hair like :) It will be kinda gross at first, having oily hair right out of the shower, but you get used to it. Those days I just wear hats and nobody knows!

This worked for me, I grew it backwards! (I mean, taking care of my ends) but everyone is different, let me tell you what I did. I got my hair cut, you need to make sure your ends are in the best condition, and then, every other night, I pour a few drops of almond oil in my hands, warmed it up and then applied it on my ends, my mom told me to tied my hair on a bun, but, since I want my hair to be straight, I didn't. My ends were healthier, didn't split, and in 7-8 months, I went from below shoulder to 2 fingers below the bra line. I did cut my hair during my almond oil "treatment" I asked my stylist to avoid thinning, and to cut everything same height, I don't how you would say it in english, here in Mexico is called "parejo" meaning that all hair equal lenght, no layers.
Then I had a brazilian keratin treatment (choose formol free, is less abrasive) and I had AWESOME hair.
And then I screwed it all, they let my hairstylist go, and another girl sustitute her, since I had amazing hair (I was feeling pretty brave and confident about my hair) I asked a style with low layers and a long fringe (think Reese Whitherspoon) and so she did, WITH A FREAKING RAZOR. That's the worst thing I could ever do to my hair! Now my ends are split like crazy, besides, she did very deep layers! So I have to let my hair grow again and start again. I'm pretty sad about it :(

Dandruff shampoos help too because they clear up your scalp and make it easier for hair to grow, hair oils are really helpful when it starts getting longer to prevent split ends, and take vitamins.

I'm in the process of growing out my hair. I took biotin for around 2months and I feel like it didn't work. Sorry it may sound gross to bring this up; I would pee in an extreme neon color meaning your body is pushing out excess biotin that my body didn't need. So, that's probably why it didn't work. Its grown a little, I had a little sebum problem on my scalp or still do a bit. I been using head and shoulders since I feel it would help with clearing the sebum and I see my hair growing a little bit. But I would love to try the castor oil!
