I will be vacationing in Puerto Rico for 2 weeks this summer and I've been thinking about highlighting my hair ( My first professional color). How far in advance should I highlight my hair and what steps do i need to take to preserve it? Thanks in advance!

You should highlight your hair soon! If you want to help preserve the color, a Purple Shampoo can help. The reason I said purple is because the color will counter act any gold tones that may form. However, only do that once or twice a week! Plus, when you go to Puerto Rico, the sun will naturally lighten your hair and highlights giving you a sun kissed look! Good Luck!
