So I can't paint nails to save my life, I just used about half a bottle of polish and polish remover trying to get my nails look nice but they smudged after 2 hour of trying to do them. I'm done with painting them!! I'm going to go get them done. Should I get.gel or acrylics?

Well I've always done acrylic nails and loved them I think their cheaper too but like gell is has more shine soo it depends on what you want.

Gel!! Acrylics damage your nails badly and gel helps them! And with gel you are still able to do stuff with your nails and they last longer! And I think they just look wayyyy better.

I actually found gel nails to be damaging, too. My nails were so damaged and disgusting after I had them removed. Why don't you just get a normal manicure, have them paint it for you, instead of wearing fake nails?

I do a no chip on my nail and they are crazy strong with it on. I can grow my own now easily and keep whatever length I'm in the mood for. I get them done every 3 weeks and aside from the cuticle..they look just as fresh as they did in day 1. No more tips for me!

Gel is much better for your nails. Acrylics weaken them, go for acrylics if you're looking for some extra length but if not go for gel-there's no point damaging your nails for no reason x

I would do acrylics. Both gel and acrylics damage your real nails but in my opinion acrylics look much better and are by far worth it!

Ashley, if you're going to get tips, get acrylics. Although gel look nice acrylics are actually much healthier for your nails. I'm a cosmetic specialist and I've seen some pretty awful things happen when people try to tyake gel off. The gel actually adheres to pores underneath your natural nail. Be careful!
