I need some help with vitamins :) feeling a bit run down in myself and especially my skin!! I love to look after my skin but working outdoors is taking its toll. I'm looking for a vitamin which is going to help me and my skin feel healthy and give me the goodness I need! Thankyou guys :)

I take the yummy gummi bear ones, lol. They don't have iron or calcium but I get lots of those anyway, and the gummi bears are so much easier to deal with than giant nasty-smelling pills! Makes vitamins fun, lol.

Look at the gaps in your diet. For instance, if you don't eat a lot of vegetables, you may not get enough B-co vitamins (among other things!). Vitamin C & E is good for repairing your skin, and vitamin A & zinc helps to keep it clear.

Try to get natural vitamins instead of the chemical shit. I eat Goji berries for a couple of Weeks now and woowie I'm happy like sponge bob...(and also as naive as he is, but that's not because of the berries)

I take prenatals. They're healthy, and they make my hair and nails grow really fast, as well as my skin having that lovely 'healthy' looking glow. Along with some gummy vites haha.

You should always speak with your doctor before taking any new supplements even if they are OTC, however keep in mind that your body will only take in what it needs, therefore if you are starting a new vitamin regimen, you should take a carrier (vitamin C, alpha lipoic acid etc) as well as whatever you are lacking. If your energy is run down and your skin is showing it could be anything from iron deficiency to vitamin b6 and b12 deficiency (both very common in women).

You may want to look into purchasing the Perricone Perscription book as he speaks of ways you can get these nutrients from food so they are more fat soluble. Also simply adding good omega fats to your diet or supplement plan can be great for energy, skin and body. I really like Natural Factors OmegaFactors Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil.

I agree with Alicia P. Since you're of child-bearing age ( that is if you plan on having kids in the future if you haven't already) be sure to get in folic acid as well. I personally take a prenatal vitamin and have been prior to having my first child 13 years ago. For some reason its the only thing that doesn't upset my stomach. But definitely as Alicia clearly mentioned find out what you're lacking in your diet and fulfill those needs via what you put in your tummy vs swallowing a pill. Even I go weeks without taking my multi-vitamin prenatal pills simply because I make diet a focus instead of pills. And the Perricone book is a must buy.

Might sound wierd/crazy but I take prenatals because they have everything you need in them in slightly higher amounts than regular vitamins they make me feel great and my hair grows so fast when I take them.

Do not forget Vitamin D. I thought that sunlight was enough or consuming milk, but it was not. My bloodwork for my yearly physical showed a deficiency in that and my dr. told me that most women do not know they lack Vitamin D, which also causes one to feel lethargic n tired.
