Can it mix these two foundations even though they are very different consistencies? I have the HD that is too dark for me right now and the Matte that is too light.?

no harm no foul. It's definitely an interesting mixture, I'd be curious to see how the end result is. But I see no reason not to try it out =]

I agree with Courtney! Try it out! I always mix Strobe Liquid and other shimmer liquids into my foundations to give it a more luminous finish so I don't see any harm mixing two different types of foundations.
