So I remember a little while ago someone posted a thread about how Beautylish is dead and it would be fun to do weekly makeup challenges to help bring the forum back to life a bit. I remember the Mortal Kombat one and I don't recall seeing any sense. Sooo I figured maybe we could set up challenges for four weeks at a time so that way there's always something for someone to try. I was thinking having one central thread for the month (outlining all the challenges and rules) and then one central thread for each week for everyone to post their looks to along side their own forum posts.

Thoughts?

The challenges that I have thought of/have been posted in the other thread are:

The looks can be either wearable or artistic, all up to you.

☞$20 makeup challenge
- Head to your nearest drug store and see if you can create a full face[or what you would normally wear for a full face] for $20 or less. Or if you have products in your home you know are under $20, use those.
☞Create a celebrity look for under $20
- Same as above, only with celebrity inspiration.
☞Pokemon inspired
- There are 649 Pokemon, pick one [or multiple if you get into it] and create a look based off of it.
☞Celebrity inspired
- Pick a celebrity of choice and their signature makeup look or one they've worn that you like, recreate this look. [Can be used with any products, not just the $20 limit]
☞One color family
-Pick one color family [red, purple, blue, etc] and create a look with only shades in that family.
- Debating on if brown and gold are allowed or not.
☞ Fantasy Inspired
- Take inspiration from mermaids, fairies, dragons, what ever! Create a fantasy inspired look.
☞Comic inspired
- So for those who love comics, or comic book characters ( Superman, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Power Girl, etc) create a look (or looks) based off of your favorite character.
☞Back to school looks
- To give help to those going back to school for the fall, create either full makeup looks or eye ideas.
- Extra love if you can do this without using mostly neutral colors.
☞Flag inspired
- Create a look based off of your country/state/providence flag!
☞Food inspired
- Make a look based off of your favorite food.
☞Animated Movie Heroine inspired
- I was going to put 'Disney princess inspired' but then I remember Anastasia wasn't a Disney Princess, nor was Meg from Hercules, Kida from Atlantis, or Esmerelda for HBoND. Then I was going to put 'Disney Heroine ' but back to that Anastasia thing, or Chell from El Dorado, or Marina from Sinbad...So just animated Heroine will do. But create a look based off of an animated movie heroine.
☞Animated Movie Villain inspired
- Same as above, but with the wonderfully devious villains.
☞Alice in Wonderland
-Create an Alice in Wonderland inspired look
☞Tutorial Attempts
Pick a tutorial from instagram, the photo section on this site, YouTube, whatever and post the tutorial and your results of trying it.
Possibilities:
☞Anime inspired
- This one may get broken down into a couple of challenges as this is really general...Eh, I'll figure it out unless someone else does.

The challenges would be by week [Starting Sunday ending the following Saturday night] instead of by day, gives people time to get it done just in case they can't do anything Monday-Friday or it's just extra hard to do during the week(like me!). So like this:

Month: Whatever
Week One: Challenge 1
Week Two: Challenge 2
Week Three: Challenge 3
Week Four: Challenge 4

And do on and so forth. There's a lot to do, just have to have people willing to do it.

Any more ideas? The originals were posted here:

Just figured I'd post this here as it is actually on topic...

I think that we should do where there is a pic of a celeb and whoever copies the look best.

But can I judge instead of do the challenges?

@Gigi - It's all purely for fun. I don't think the girls would be to comfortable being judged, though depending on the girl you may be able to give constructive criticism.

This is really similar to the challenges at Makeup Geek. I like the idea; hopefully people will participate even though there's no prizes. :)

Another idea: Make a tutorial or pictorial

@Emily - I didn't even know MG had challenges. Now to go peak and see if there are some we can use here.
