I just wanted your opinion on how young is too young for makeup? I'm not trying to come off as rude or offend anyone. (:
I'm 21 now and I love makeup, I notice more and more how girls in grade 7 and 8 wear more products on their face than I do now. I don't even remember wearing makeup in high school until I was in grade 11 or 12. I can understand young girls wearing lipgloss or wearing bb cream to cover up small imperfections but it amazes me how many young girls wear a large amount of product on their face.

Beginning of high school should be the right time to start wearing makeup... The world is ending now. Lol I've seen 12 year old girls who look like 18 and stuff.. Sad. :/

Anything under 15 to me although I'm being a bit of a hypocrite since I started at 13 but its really bad for your skin also in my case it was so I wouldn't get more depressed and I was really mature for my age.

Considering I have a sister who is twelve years younger than me I'd say twenty. lol. I've seen first hand what parents mean by kids grow up way too fast. I think middle school starting with something light because it is the time puberty starts but at the same time you're still just a kid. its a sticky subject.

Haha that's very true Christy, 12 year olds are starting to look 18.
Yes I agree Betsy it is very bad for young skin. The only reason I really started wearing makeup was because I started getting into modelling.

I'm 13...personally I think 13 isnt such a bad age to START. I'm not saying wear a full face of makeup. But light makeup isn't the worst thing in the world. But if you're just playing around and not really planning on wearing it every day I think any age is fine just to play (:

Yea true since if I was a mom I would know that at school some girls share there makeup so even if the parent is against that at school they could wear makeup. Well I would look for organic or light makeup like baby lips and the clear mascara if I had a child probably will do that for my cousins too I feel like they are my siblings and children.

But it is ultimately the parents' decision.

I am thirteen and I wear only a little... I think it really depends on how much you wear.

I think around 13 or 15 young girls should start playing around with make up. I am 22 now and just getting into more make up. I have a daughter and I always tell my husband that she is not allowed to wear make up until 15, I really want my children to hold onto their childhood and not grow up so fast!

I agree Eva! Children should be children! It makes me sad to see them grow up so fast nowadays

I'm the only girl in the 7th grade who doesn't wear anything other than eyeliner.

I wore makeup in 6th grade but I only ever wore a little eyeshadow here and there. I saw girls with too much glitter and eyeliner on and it was way too much.

I started playing with makeup when I was like 8 or 9. Just around the house, glitter, green and purple lipstick and silly stuff like that. I got really bad acne when I was in 4th or 5th grade and I started wearing concealer and foundation to cover it. So I started pretty young. It seems weird now at almost 22, but I can remember how normal it felt then.

I personally don't think girls should wear makeup before they start high school because it's somewhat provocative and gives them too much of a grown up appearance however it is up to the parents. I have little girls asking me to put lipstick on them and if their parents say it's okay I do but even then I hesitate and make sure I use sheer colors.

I Plus wore lip gloss until high school. then in high school I just did Concealer, pencil liner, mascara, a bit of eyeshadow and tinted lipbalm or lipstick. I don't see the need for a full face unless your having really bad once problems and feel the need to cover them up.

Yeah I personally think its fine if you have to cover any acne or imperfections that people are self conscious about. I just don't see the need for younger girls to be wearing lipstick, blush, and bronzer I barely where it at my age now lol

I get that girls want to cover up acne but they're only making it worst by doing so. If boys have to deal with it then acne is no excuse for them to feel the NEED to wear it. Every teenager undergoes hormone changes they just need to learn how to cope with it. I think in middle school developing a good skin care regimen and learning about hygiene is more important than wearing makeup to mask and worsen the underlying problem.

I think 13 and under is too young.. but I wouldn't let my girls wear a lot anyway when they are 14-18. after that if their buying their own makeup then idgaf lol.

^ I've seriously never heard of anyone getting wrinkles faster because they wore make up before they were 18. Especially considering most make up now contains spf and 80% of skin aging is caused by the sun. And I don't know a lot of people who just put regular sunscreen on their face unless they're going to the beach.
