I've been using proactiv for almost a year now and it was working great. It only dried out my skin a bit but it was fixable. Now it's been stinging/burning my face every time I use it and I noticed some hives under my chin. I've used a lot of different acne medications and they usually just made dark marks and dry skin. And my prom is in two weeks and I really don't feel like looking like a monster. Help?

Oxy's benzoyl peroxide cleanser..omg it really works! Not sure how sensitive your skin is and it smells pretty medicated but it sure helps! Also tea tree oil for spot treatment. You can alternate between the two because I think together they'd be drying.

I have horrible skin :/ I have acne scars, dry patches although I have oily skin, I have whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, etc. I started using organic coconut oil and it's been AMAZING!! You see results the next morning.
First, I cleanse with Neutrogena Translucent Facial Bar (without scent)
Then I use Clean n Clear astringent/toner (the pink one)
And after that has dried, I use a few drops of organic Coconut oil and 2 little vitamin E tablets (cracked so I get the liquid out) and spread it all over my face. Your face is going to feel oily, but that is good. Go to bed and when you wake up, you'll see instant results. Everything isn't going to be fixed over night, but if you use it every night for 2 weeks a majority will be gone or faded. :) I hope I helped! Btw, that was my night time routine. :]

Plus, it's all inexpensive drugstore items. :] Except for maybe the organic coconut oil, that would be in a grocery store.

You can try st ives scrubs. And burts bees. Say yes to, products! here's a look of my face cleanse routine that keeps my skin healthy free of acne and free of dark spots. Neutragena transparent facial bar, humphreys witch hazel toner, aloe vera gel, organic coconut oil. It is always good to use organic products, they arent harsh on your skin and natural remedies are amazing for you! My skin is soft and glowy. You can exfoliate once a week also!

My sister was having a heck of a time all of the sudden with acne. She went to Sephora and they recommended this and that, she tried all kinds of high end stuff. I told her I had just read about a line called "Alpha Hydrox" she went online to like drugstore.com I think and got the kit for oily skin. That was years ago, I recently remembered all that and asked her if she still used it and she said " are you kidding me? That stuff saved my life"
It's super cheap too. Well compared to Sephora and Proactive!

Stay Away from Proactive. What you need to do is, go to sephora and get the Umbrian Clay Soap bar. It will help clear up your skin. Also, get a clarisonic, they are life changing. What you need is a good/gentle/active/natural cleanser and serum as well as a great moisturizer. Thats key girl.

I used Proactiv for a year and it cleared my face up and then I went to Cetaphil, much more mild and my face is still clear. I also use tea tree oil to treat my spots as well when they come up :)

I agree with sevi... Cetaphil is great n works wonders it's not for acne specifically but I had bad acne n it really cleared up my skin you will never use anything else after trying it.
