It sounds like a big NO, but is it really?? Also, has anyone used kett hydro foundation and can tell me their fave ways to use it?

Its not necessarily a big no. You just have to know who you are working with. Although, it is better to work with water based because many people are allergic to silicone based airbrush. I haven't used any Kett products. For all my clients, I've used OCC and Graftobian GlamAire airbrush makeup. Both are water based. What's nice is that they come in trial sized packs so you can try it out before buying the bigger sized bottles.

If you are asking in a professional capacity, yes, it is a no. Over time, the product won't perform to the degree it would if you didn't mix. You will have problems touching up and maintaining the integrity of the makeup over the course of the shoot. Add hot lights, shooting outdoors, a long day on set if you work in film, and it's not worth it. And yes, as the gal above said, you can't mix product in the same gun, you need to use different guns. I've never been on a set where I've had time to stop, clean my gun, then use a different formula, so I have separate guns for different formulations: water, alcohol, silicone.

I also agree that silicone allergy is rare. At least in the 20 years I've been doing this I've rarely come across it.

Kett Hydro is a fantastic product, but not my top pick.

Do NOT mix them.

I just recently took the Advanced Airbrush class with Temptu and this was talked about. Use one or the other.
