So I really want to become a cinema makeup artist I took a class for stage makeup and have been told I have really great potential for someone who was just starting. I was wondering if any of you could help me figure out where to start?

If you know anyone/have any connections that is the best and easiest way, otherwise it is pretty hard. Outside of that, start with low budget films (you might have to start out doing it for free, or meals, etc). Go to craigslist and look into people looking for makeup artists. College students doing films is a good place to go. Get your name put in the credits. Look for people doing films for festivals and make sure your name is put in the credits. Don't try to jump in big. Also, look into being an assistant makeup artist to bigger artists that work in cinema makeup.
