Hee you girls! I hear different arguments about the effect of Sun on your face. I really think it works for Lu pimpels, but some say that the Sun will give you a thickened skinlayer that will cause more pimpels. what you know/experienced?

My skin absolutely hates the sun- I get heat rash and it ain't pretty. No matter how much sunscreen I put on- my skin has always reacted badly with the sun. If you're not protecting your skin with sunscreen or any other type of SPF it can cause premature wrinkles and skin cancer. But a little sun doesn't hurt. :)

Well when I was going to the tanning bed a lot my face was super clear. I think it may depend on what type of skin you have. but more than likely it will burn thay first layer of skin, thus no pimples:)

Tanning in a salon causes acne (dermatologist told me tht) but the nautral sun gives you vitamin D and can open up pores to heat and when you sweat the impurities go away and if your area has clean air and there isn't a bunch of kicked up dirt the nautral sun is good
Tanning bad

My dermatologist told me to stay CLEAR of the sun. I'm not sure if it varies for skin types, but I've oily skin. :)

I'd rather have pimples over burnt skin.

My skin is so good when I tan, but not if I apply SPF. I used to tan with a towel over my face to prevent having to use SPF buuuut then it didn't really get much sun. Regardless I stopped tanning cause even if my skin was "clearer" acne-wise, I've developed dark spots despite using a towel. Be careful!!

I use tanning beds & layout. I know its bad, my skin so my problem but it actually helped my mild acne. as long as you use it in moderation. your skin needs the vitamins the sun gives.

Yes that a thing I noticed: when it's summy and hot a whitehead can grow so quick. That so embarrassing! After a hot day at school I come home and noticed a whitehead!

The sun is bad for acne prone skin because your pores are open and the sun hits it will turn into a dark spot and probably a scab if you have messed with it always wash your face and use sun screen of 40 spf.

Sweating is the culprit if you get more zits just like if you sweat after running and get zits near the hair line. Just dab your face when it gets sweaty.

I used to use tanning beds frequently when I was a teen. Since I've discovered St. Tropez there is no need (& no desire) to use the tanning bed. But I rarely had acne when I used it, even with make up on. I didn't always tan my face as I put a towel over it (I know it only offered maybe SPF 5?) anyway, to be fair I was also on birth control so I don't know if the UVB really helped. I know that UVA/UVB is not good for skin and causes dryness. So in short, no, I don't think it's particularly "good" for pimples. Sorry for the ramble:)

It's not. It will temporarily dry out your skin--making it seem like your skin is getting clearer. However, because your skin dried out it will overproduce oil causing a worse breakout.

Sun exposure is irritating and damaging to skin. It will only make what you have going worse. UV exposure also makes blackheads and clogged pores appear darker because UV rays cause the clog to oxidize. Many acne medications also cause additional sun sensitivity.
