Cali, definitely! Sun, the ocean, laid-back fashion, Hollywood, Disneyland, etc. New York would be an awesome place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Everyone associates California with Hollywood/Los Angeles... Hello, we've got several hundred miles of state besides that! California has a little bit of everything, it crosses several climate zones and has a lot of regional variation. I've never been to New York but it is probably very similar. There's a lot of state outside of NYC and the boroughs. It really depends on what you can afford and what jobs you are looking for as to what state would be better. Climate-wise, you can find similar weather in both states.

I would love to visit NYC! But I'm from southern CA and love it! 30 mins from the beach... 40 mins from the mountains (great for when it snows) sunny weather pretty much all year long. Cali seems a lot more laid back too :)

California. Just went there for the FIRST time this past spring break. I went to San Diego, Hollywood, & Los Angeles. It was INCREDIBLE. ❤ My heart belongs there. I also went to New York three spring breaks ago & loved it as well , but...
