How to Keep my Hair from becoming Brassy?

No matter what, my hair always becomes brassy. I use sulfate free shampoos and don't heat style my hair so I don't get why it's happening. Any tips?

I don't know either if you don't use heat on your hair. but swimming in chlorine pools can make it brassy too. plus I heard if you have hard water the minerals in the water makes it brassy. next time you get your hair done I'd ask your hair stylist. maybe its just the way your hair is...moisturising shampoos too may help. :)

I use purple shampoo as I am blonde...and said bye bye to brass. There are other color based shampoos and conditioners made specifically to address this problem in red heads.. brunettes...etc. John Frieda has a line, but I prefer Sally's Generic line. Hope that helps.

Yeah my Cosmetology teacher always used purple tinted shampoo on girls with dyed blonde hair... Maybe try that!
