My hair is a little longer than shoulder length. I REALLY would like to find a way to create beachy waves/mermaid curls. But, my hair is reallyyyy hard to curl. I currently have a 1inch curling iron if that helps :)

I would treat the iron like a wand and wrap the hair around the barrel. Even though I have long hair, I've done many of my friends hair who have shorter, shoulder length hair.

I think a plait is like a braid? Am I correct?

Kayley, you said you wrapped it in a bun after you make a plait?? how exactly do you do that?? it sounds interesting, and I have been searching for the similar question about a good way to curl shorter hair!

Curl your hair with a straightener but try tilting the tip of ut so it almost faces the ground while curling, this gives you amazing beachy waves/curls but still keeps the length! I hope you understood the way I explained it ahahaha.

A plait is a different word for a braid! I'd say make several small braids when your hair is damp, and sleep on them when you wake up, take them out and you should have wavy hair!! Tip: don't make your braids too small, or else your going to make your hair SUPER poofy!! :) hope I helped!!
