You put it in the right places, buy you need to blend it out a bit more, it looks a bit too obvious. It is good for a first try though, if you struggle trying to blend it out, try buffing some normal face powder over the top, I do this sometimes if I get a bit to heavy on the bronzer, or you might just need a lighter shade. I also like to put a bit on my temples so my skin looks naturally sun kissed. I call it my halo lol. Seriously well done though!!

It's great for a first attempt (mine was less than admirable...). I agree that it should be blended a bit more, especially towards the bottom.

I agree that placement was done correctly..but blush and blend, baby, blend. Check out Kandee Johnson and GossMakeupArtist on YouTube. They are fun and fab at contouring. :)
