I actually like the first one! I think it's different but still pretty! Prom dresses are all so generic, I think goin outside the box is a cool idea! But if you're not comfortable in it then don't get it.

The first dress doesn't say prom to me, maybe another event but not prom. Go for something more glam. You can still stay original and not go as basic as your friend but if you're on the iffy side then I vote search for another dress that's more glam and your style.
