I don't like the overlay of acrylics and gels because I don't like filing my nails away can anyone give me some tips on how to keep my polish from chipping off of my natural nails.

Just use a topcoat. This will help it to last longer. You can get loads of types extra stengh gel extra shine ect.

You don't have to file away your nails with shellac or gelish. I use these as my nails always chip or peel within 24 hours. However I have recently discovered Sally Hansen 'complete manicure' and so far it has lasted a week :-)
