How do I find a good nail artist?

I have never gotten my nails done before, but I've heard aabout lots of very bad experiences with them. so I have a few questions;
what kind of nails are best to get?
around how much should they cost?
and any other advice on finding someone good would be lovely <3

Well depends on what you want? Do you want gel, acrylic, gel nail polish, how often are you willing to get them done.

I would recommend gel nails. You have to keep it up every week and honestly it's trial and error. Go off recommendations. It is something that you have to be consistent with that's why I quit :/. Straight manicures for me!
