Hey girls I need some advice I recently been brought Estée Lauder double wear foundation in sand color. I thought it was great at first however I noticed by the end of the day you can really see it caked on my face and you can see my dry skin and it just looks really messy and bad. I don't quite know how to explain it but for example today my boyfriend said well you look like your make up Is caked on. I've been wearing the same amount but I always wear however it's the foundation that has changed. At first I thought it was my dry skin but I don't think that Is it because I've been exfoliating and moisturizing and it's still like that. It's really bad on my nose where you can see my pores very clearly. I'm kind of upset that I spent so much money on a foundation and this is happening. Do I need to use a better primer. I'm thinking of buying the Smashbox primer. Which one do you recommend.

Or should I put moisturizer underneath the foundation.

I currently have a Neutrogena primer which is very NAFTA fine. However I don't really use it every day unless I'm going out in the evening after work.

Yes always use a moisterizer underneath.. The double wear and dbl wear lite is one o my favorites! Never had that prob and I have dry skin combo.. Te thin with Double wear is that its thick so use not as much and add more if needed

A strange. I even notice under my eyes you can see my pores when I'm not wearing makeup you can't see anything. I'm kind of confused. I bought the under eye concealer stick as well.

Try it without a primer just moisterizer, I do find that some primers make my foundation more cakey looking

I also find that it's really accentuating my wrinkles. I'm only 23 and after I wear it I see fine lines all around my Eyes and four head.

Estée launder double wear foundation is meant to be very think! That is probably why it looks so cakey. Try a lighter weight foundation.

No I haven't been moisturizing under my foundation because before I had the problem of my skin getting too oily throughout the day. However that was with my old foundation. Maybe with this foundation I need to moisturize. I also might be applying too much? I just bought a foundation brush and eco-tools and I've been using that?

No prob! Hope it helps.. Yes definitely use moisturizer and if you have oil problems at the end of the day maybe try an oil free moisterizer? Next time you go to the Estée. Lauder counter see if they can give you a sample of the double wear lite version.. It's a little less thick but not as full coverage as the reg one

Ok try it without the powder.. I don't use powders and this makeup doesn't really "need" a powder to set, it lasts all day at least with me it does.. I only use a bronzing powder (Nars) which I love and doesn't look dry at all.

Maybe a brush could help you even it out
if you use a sponge pad it only absorbs the makeup and not much goes on
a mixing brush helps you even out the texture really good
I like my ecotools brush the best

Ok cool I use the Eco tools lol thanks everyone

You could try resetting it with a setting spray. Elf makes a cheap one.

I recommend getting a different brush. Try a duo fibre brush they are amazing. Or also a beauty blender. Sonia kashuk has a great cheap alternative and its at target
