Yeah you should definitely put positurizer before then prime your face.. apply the foundation with a good brush and then set it with powder...then use a setting spray if you'd like and if you like the matte look put powder again...It sounds like a lot of powder but I use translucent so that's why :D.

Ok, so I use the Estée Lauder double wear as well, I use a moisturizer first after that sinks in I use Urban Decay Face Primer for covering up pores, then I use a beauty blender damp of course to blend after applying the product with my fingers and I have found because this gives such full coverage a little goes a very long way, I had the problem you did at first and thought trial and error trying different things I finally LOVE the result. I love the foundation bc I have horribly red acne scarred uneven skin and this has the best coverage I have ever used.

It sounds like your foundation doesn't agree with your skin... I would take it back... before you get a foundation ask them if they do samples... I know the bodyshop does and so do some of the others... its worth trying before you buy x

Try applying with a damp beauty blender or other sponge. Just get it wet and squeeze out the excess. It will almost double in size, then use that to stipple in the foundation. Using a damp sponge makes it easier to blend your foundation, especially when it's a very matte formula. Primer will help with the way it settles into your dry skin but if you want a less noticeable foundation a damp sponge is your best bet. If you don't want to dish out the money for a beauty blender, sephora makes an identical one for half the price and it works great

Definitely use a primer and a moisturizer if your skin seems dry. And try using a foundation brush to put on your foundation. A great one is Urban Decay's Good Karma Optical Blurring brush. It helps blend and blur your foundation on your skin and a brush doesn't waste good product like a sponge. :)

I've had this problem with some foundations too. I use make up for ever primer after moisturizer and I try on use less foundation than I would if it were my drug store makeup.

I often use double wear mixed with a tinted moisturiser so I still get a good coverage! I do this on top of my normal pre makeup routing (cleanser, toner, moisturiser and a more moisturising eye cream) the tinted moisturiser makes your skin remain nice throughout the day!

Okay, listen up I don't care if half that bottle is used up, take that sh!t back to Estée Lauder and tell them that the stuff sucks and you would like a refund. But be extremely polite. And don't talk to anyone but the manager of the counter. The associates can be real b!tches. So don't say a word to them.

100% you will get your money back. It's policy. But they will interrogate you to make sure you're not a scammer. Which is why I said talk to the manager, because the associate will have to get approval from the manager anyway. So might as well talk directly to the manager.

I don't know if this was mentioned yet, but how are you applying the foundation? Using a large softer stippling brush might make a difference..if not I say take it back!

Aqua vita by Chanel. It's the most amazing foundation. When they say "weightless foundation" they mean it. Try it, go to the counter & get a sample, it's smooth & beautiful all day & it's only 45$. & makeup forever has a great primer, I believe it's called the hd primer. Good luck :)

I would moisturize, then use a primer, I just purchased estee lauder's primer and loove it! Then I would try adding a little bit of your moisturizer to your foundation to thin it a little bit.

Hey girls you bought a beauty blender, started to moisturizer, use revlon color stay primer, and apply with beauty blender and use less foundation, and then it got a lot better! I also realized the lady at Estée Lauder gave me the wrong color! I got it exchanged. They are bitchy tho! Thanks so much ladies
