Oval Brushes , Yes or No? Which ones at a low cost?

Hey ya'll. I'm back again 😜

I keep seeing oval brushes and I'm more than interested.

1. What do ya'll think of them?

2. Where can I find a low cost set that works decently, so I can try them, before investing in a nice set?

I think oval brushes prove that everything is personal preference, but tool quality is always important. I have no interest in holding my brushes like that, but some people might.

You can probably find artis brush dupes on YouTube.

I think they are gimmicky. they make it impossible to apply makeup on others. I tried my friends artis ones and they didn't do any better than my real techniques brush with my foundation.
if you are wanting to try them though, I wouldnt get a cheap set to build an opinion on. it's not like lipstick where you can get a feel for the colors you like and worry about lasting power and opacity later. the products themselves are wholly different in design and performance. the Amazon ones I bought really were very different than the expensive ones my friend has and while I just thought the artis were a waste of money I genuinely hated the Amazon ones for being so scratchy. like, morphe or elf brushes are scratchy and I use those no problem, but these were SCRATCHY. the Amazon ones also did a horrid job at blending and felt almost flimsy, whereas the artis was just average all around but disappointing because I expected a miracle based on the hype.
if you already have good brushes or plan on doing makeup for anyone other than yourself at any time, I would skip right past them. if you need brushes for yourself I would still skip them because I feel there is better out there. but if you insist on wanting to try them because you can't stop hearing about them, then I would say don't cheap out because you will be disappointed.

I agree with Leuca, I don't like holding my brush like that. There's not enough control when using them.

I'm personally not a fan as I can't get used to them but I can see why people can. The original Artis brushes are beautiful and so soft (I've held them in a makeup store, they're so beautiful haha), but they're ridiculously expensive. The Evo brushes by Iconic London are the closest dupes to the Artis brushes that I've found, they're not as soft as the Artis brushes but they're still very soft.

The Artis Brushes feel wonderful, but my gosh are they expensive. They don't give you enough control to purchase these (in my opinion) and I think you're better off with the IT brushes from Ulta.

I have never tried them but, I have seen a set of 8 of the oval brushes arraying in size at Burlington.
