When is the proper time to put on a mask?

I'm probably overthinking this however when's the proper time in your routine to do a face mask?

Before cleansing? After cleansing? Before toning? After toning? Before or after moisturizing?
There's so many options! Lol

I'll wash my face first, use my face mask, then tone & moisturize after washing off the mask.

I'd suggest the same, cleanse your face, to take any makeup and oils away, do your face mask , and then continue with the rest of your skin routine, including a moisturizer.
