This ones a little long, but if someone has some helpful info to share, I would really appreciate it 💛
So up until recently, I thought vitamin E was excellent for your skin. Someone told me otherwise recently, so out of curiosity I tried cutting it out.
A little bit of backstory: I've had a really bad lip-picking habit since I was a teenager, and it got compulsion bad in the passed couple of years, and I used vitamin e oil to try to help repair my skin so I would stop picking. But when I heard that it's good for your skin, just not your lips for some reason, I cut it out, and my lips really started to heal for literally the first time in years!
So now I'm wondering if I should be using it at all! :/
I've been mixing my moisturizer with vitamin e oil (heavier solution for winter), but if it kept my lips from healing, then I can't help to think what it's doing to my face skin...
What should I do? Please and thank you, beauties 💋

Vitamin e oil is a great oil for skin by evening discoloration, and providing the essential amount of fatty acid to your skin. However, it is known to be comedogenic and can cause acne if your not careful with it. As for it not healing your skin, I wonder if it is too heavy for your skin?

Yes it is good and I have used it a lot in the past but TRUST ME vit c serums are wayyy better. they work faster and are more effective. also, you can wear it during the day. the E is too thick for me too and I have broken out at times, where as the C is very thin.

Chloe and Lara, thank you!! My skin seems to like the vit e mixture since it's extremely dry with cold where I live. Is that a good brand of oil to buy? Or do you have a better (still affordable) Vitamin C brand? And if you don't mind me picking your brain lol what are the benefits of vitamin c for the skin? :)
Still a mystery why my face likes it but my lips don't tho... lol

I just use aquaphor over some facial moisturizer on my lips. Never fails if you maintain with a good balm during the day.
Vitamin C is an all around great skincare ingredient. It stimulates collagen production, inhibits melanin production, is an anti-inflammatory, and speeds cell renewal/turnover.
It's not the most expensive ingredient, but at the same time it's highly unstable in most forms, so some companies charge more with advertisements of "highly stabilized", etc.
Right now I'm using the product linked below. This stuff is legit; I've noticed a significant improvement in the discoloration I had from a case of contact dermatitis. I've also heard Timeless has a good Vitamin C booster, but I haven't tried that one.

Of course. Keep in mind that there's a short adjustment period for high % vitamin c boosters, because it needs to be in an acidic base, and most forms are actually acidic by nature. You may feel the product sting slightly until you adjust to it; that is a normal reaction and means it's working.
Remember that products like that need to be used with 2-3 months at most because exposing it to air everyday will start to slowly break down the Vitamin C. Keep it in a dark, cool place when not in use. If you get a bottle and it's already a dark color, the bottle is "off" and should be returned.
