Does your office have a dress code of any sort?

Having basics that you can mix and match, with a few "fun" (but appropriate) pieces to spice things up, is the easiest way to build a professional wardrobe. Slacks (khaki, black, navy, grey), cardigans, Oxford blouses, plain long-sleeved tees, a couple of dresses, and some accessories. Combine things in different ways to have a bunch of outfits without spending a lot on new clothes.

I would say it's smart causal at the moment I'm like wearing a skirt with a nice top and cardigan but it's a bit boring. There's no specific colour coding!

I wear black dress pants and a nice polo, or if I have a presentation to give I wear a blouse. :)

Yeah definitely mix and match with similar colours/ colours that go together so that you don't have to spend a load of money buying individual outfits. So a mixture of skirts, trousers, blouses, tops, cardigans, blazers, coats and make sure you have at least two pairs of good shoes! Hope this helps:) ♡

Everyone has given you some very good suggestions. I'm in corporate management, and my style is very specific and hasn't changed much over the years. I always wear professional dresses, and I feel strange wearing pants for some reason (primarily because of my body type). I buy all my work clothes from Dress Barn, which has nice business clothes (not just dresses but also casual and business casual clothes). You're young, so have fun with it as long as you look professional and well groomed. There's a ton of options for you. :-)
