Not going to lie, that's pretty much common knowledge.
Although I do disagree with heat preventing your hair from producing the natural oils, surely it would make your hair produce more oil as it's being stripped of the oil, which would lead to your scalp producing more?
I'd like to see the scientifical studies you based your statements on

Yes can you please share your source for this information? I know that heat can damage hair but you can also prevent damage by using a heat protection spray as well as a moisturizing oil like argan or jojoba to replace the oils that the heat may have stripped - but as far as I know oil production is something your body does naturally and I don't know that using heat on your hair can change that.

You can't prevent the actual heat damage in any way shape or form. If you prevented the heat damage that means you're preventing the heat from reaching the hair shaft which defeats the purpose of heat styling. What good protecting products do is smooth the hair shaft to drastically reduce friction and abrasive damage.
