Should I purchase BB cream or CC cream?

I dislike foundation because on my skin it just doesn't look good, so I'm looking at BB and CC creams. I have acne with a lot of red and textural problems. What are positives and negatives of each? Are there any brands you recommend (price range: $0-$20)?
Thank you all

In my experience a CC cream has more coverage than a BB cream so if covering discoloration and/or skin issues is your main concern then go for a CC cream. Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations that are in your price range.

I am not sure if they have a cc cream but Garnier has a great bb cream that I use in your price range. I'm not much help but you could always start there

I enjoy the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Gel Cream. You can find it at a decent price on Amazon and other non beauty specific retailers, but I would recommend going into your local Sephora/Ulta and checking out the shades. Offers light, somewhat buildable converage that looks really skin like. Has mineral sunscreen for additional sun protection that won't irritate your skin and sets well with powder. I even use this under my eyes when I want slight brightening but can't be bothered with concealer.

I recommend applying with fingers directly after your SPF moisturizer, and finishing any last blending touches with a sponge or dense brush if the finish isn't to your liking.

Will not control oil (though it isn't greasy), but may exacerbate excessively dry skin.

CC cream all the way!! I have never had lunch with BB creams, I find they don't even out my skin tone at all and just slide straight off my face. I have been obsessed with Loreals CC creams, in which you can actually get ones that come in green, salmon etc.in order to colour correct dullness or redness etc.and then with the warmth of your skin they turn into your skin colour :)

Leuca- I love the Complexion Rescue Gel! It's amazing. It feels like nothing on my skin yet manages to cover my slight redness. It's witchcraft! I thought I would need to layer it when I bought it but a little bit does the job. It just seems to melt into my skin and look undetectable!
It Cosmetics has a more full coverage option- their CC Cream is definitely thicker than the average CC cream. I find the shade range to be disappointing. And it has a slight fragrance that I don't care for. But it's a best seller and many people enjoy it.

Jenni: I personally do not like the IT Cosmetics CC Cream, I've tried it before. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Brook A- I don't care for it either. The fragrance irritates me and I'm in between two shades and that annoys me. I long the Bare Minerals- such a great shade range. And the price is reasonable. Less than 30- I know it's a little outside of your budget but Ulta was having a 50% off sale, not sure if it's still going on. Dr Jart makes great BB creams too. Good coverage and they may seem pricey but they last a while.
