Ulta Vs Sephora

Which do you like better? The closest ulta is about 30 minutes away so I've never gone. Who has a better reward program? Which do you like better in general?

Sephora is all high end, where as Ulta is the cheaper options. I like Sephora better!

Sephora is so much better in my opinion as far as quality and selection goes. Ulta does carry some of the products that Sephora does, but Sephora i definitely the place for high-end makeup.

Sephora all the way!!!! Ulta will not give you samples!! And the store I have been in they do not know there stuff! Sephora is wonderful!

Sephora all the way for me. Ulta does have drugstore brands but they charge more for them there than at the actual drugstore. And I've always had horrible customer service at Ulta. I'm ignored the whole time, even during checkout. They talk to their coworkers instead of interacting with their customers. Sephora has just always been more welcoming and helpful. I would just go to Sephora for high end stuff and go to the drugstore for drugstore products and skip Ulta completely. But that's just me of course.

I think their reward programs are about the same though; for every dollar spent you get a point. I don't know about the actual rewards for your points at Ulta though. For Sephora you usually get deluxe samples of varying brands and sizes for however many points, usually starting at 100. At 500 you get bigger things. And sometimes you get access to sales before they actually start.

Sephora definitely has a better rewards program, plus they give better samples and promos. Ulta gives out drug store rewards for spending where as Sephora gives exclusive, nice brand products for spending and for your birthday.

I really like ulta. Their reward system isn't amazing but I really don't like sephoras all that much either. Plus all of the sephoras I have been to are extremely small but I live very close to two ultas (along with two sephoras)both of the ultras are giant with a huge selection.

I prefer Ulta because they carry the high end brands that I wear and while they do charge more for drugstore brands than your typical bigbox stores, they always have sales and coupons which makes them cheaper in the end.

Wow, I've had totally the opposite experience from most of you! I asked a Sephora employee about samples and she said they don't do that. I like Ulta because they let you test foundations and they have a lot of helpful staff to answer questions. Maybe it's just where I live?
