I am thirteen. I enjoy wearing makeup but I think I wear a bit much of liner. When I am without makeup, I think I look odd, not me. How am I supposed to wear makeup and be my age? I get self-concious and think that I look a lot older. I would also like to make sure that as I get older, my skin will stay healthy. How to do this, please? A big thank you in advance!

I'd say keep your eye liner minimal. If you use mascara only like yor upper lid and do your water line. Use a light hand. Even for older women a heavy hand can make makeup look harsh. If you want a more natural look try and black brown vs a very black mascara and liner. Hope this helps.

Always cleanse your skin twice daily, this is a key essential part as it stops from your skin clogging up and getting spots. Keep your make up simple and light. Wear bottom eyeliner and mascara, try avoid wearing top eyeliner regularly. Applying mascara will open your lids and make the eyes stand out and not look tired. first you would find it weird but then after a few days you get used to it, this way when you apply top eyeliner for special occasions you look different from the everyday look. Also to end the make up add a touch of lip colour/ gloss your choice some light with hint of colour, this takes all the attention from the eyes n all round the face. Hope that helps xx

It's so much more important to have a good skincare regime over good make up. If you have wonderful skin to start off with you automatically need less make up. Start with a very basic routine. Cleanse ever night and moisturise. That's all you need to do.

As for make up wear a light tinted cream and a lip balm. Avoid heavy liner.

Bare minerals looks so natural but covers very well too! I would try that. I love it

Be careful of trying to look too old, it can draw the wrong kind of attention and get you into trouble! Avoid liners except in the water line if at all, or use fun bright shadows as a liner on the bottom lid, the black brown mascara is a great idea as well as the mineral makeup idea and use glosses, not lipsticks, also if you can afford it, MY FAVORITE is MAC "Naked" eye shadow pigment. It makes you feel like you have shadow with out looking overdone but has a faint glitter and a great color to brighten eyes. You can find it at any Macy's or online for $20. It will last you years with everyday wear. I use it all the time and wear it with a bright color shadow, usually blue or purple as a liner on my bottom lid. Play with your nails as an outlet for creativity. Polish is age appropriate and fun! You have so many years to look old and worn, now is the time to be fun, young and still enjoy being a kid. Trust me, when you do grow up, you'll wish you were still that young 13 year old girl, even if it doesn't seem like it now!!! XOXO and best of luck!
