What is the difference between applying foundation with a brush? And with Fingers?.. I want to try using a brush instead because I see a lot of people using them :) how are they better than using your fingers? And do you clean the brush after every time you use it? And what do you use to clean it with?
Thank you!❤️

I use either a brush or the chi chi beauty blender, it stops streaking and creates even coverage, easier to blend and all that. I personally don't clean my brushes/beauty blender every time I use them, I clean them once a week and I find that's enough. I use Johnnsons baby oil and some warm water.

It depends on the foundation.
Some foundations look a lot better when applied with fingers
I find creams look a lot better with fingers.
I think brushes or sponges (beauty blender) are best with liquids because they can stipple on the foundation and give an airbrushed look.
For powder foundation, a good dense kabuki brush works better than a big fluffy brush because you use less and get more coverage.
With a kabuki brush I just have to tap on the pressed powder and then buff it in whereas with a fluffier brush you'd really have to swirl it on the powder to get a good amount but the brush will absorb some of it or disperse it all over the place

I can't say the exact difference because it depends on what brush and foundation.. some foundations do wonderful with a brush and some do better with fingers.
What I do like about brushes is the even coverage they provide without streaks and the fact that they are hygienic compared to using you fingers (Unless you don't properly care for your brush). Some foundation brushes can even be used to help build up coverage in a certain area... it all depends on the type of brush you use. Some brushes even mimic application of fingers!
I personally spot clean mine after every use using 70% isopropyl alcohol... I spray mine with it and gently wipe on a clean paper.. and a deep clean once a week using hakuhodo's brush cleaner.. an at home alternative would be a gentle sulfate free shampoo.

I like to use my fingers when I apply anything with spf like bb cream. When I apply a full coverage foundation, in my opinion its best to apply it with a beauty blender or a buffing brush to get a nice airbrush flawless complexion. Also our hands have natural oils in them that may cause complication when applying makeup on just like how people mention not to apply a primer on your eyelids or on your face with your fingers because of the oils on your fingers that won't help if you have oily skin.
