So a couple of days ago I came across a thread where Rozberry mentioned that the MUFE Face and Body was going to be discontinued.
I went ahead and emailed MUFE to see what was up - in which I was told to keep a look out for updates!
So it seems they've reformulated the product by adding more water, and apparently it will be using vitamin water to help hydrate the skin along with added mango butter (along with some rumors I've seen mentioning hyaluronic acid.)
It will be now called 'Water Blend' instead of 'Face and Body' (still can be applied to both.)
Will any of you be trying out this new formula? I'm such a fan of the original formula! I'm hoping this will work out for the best! It's an amazing foundation for dry skin gals and it's also waterproof!

Can I ask a dumb question? Lol
What's the point of 'body' foundation? Like not trying to sound rude or anything I just don't understand why someone would want foundation on other points of their body haha. I've been dying to ask without sounding stupid.. 😬

Ah, Kitty..thank you so much. Sabrina had told me she heard news, but I was still unsure. I have a new bottle that is the wrong color (ordered accidentally) and am heading to exchange it Friday. The Penny's still had bottles, but my Sephora hasn't all year. I'm nearly out. I'm going to try and snag a last bottle before they pull it, but will definitely be open to trying a new formulation.
I can't deny part of me is very worried they're messing with a good thing. It's a gel texture, as you know, and more water may change what I love most about it...aside from how dry skin friendly it is. I hear so few people talk about it and so I suppose they are trying to change that. Being a fan yourself, how do you feel about the change? Will you be trying to grab a last bottle if you can?

Dana; Foundations like this MUFE and MAC Face and Body won't cover tattoos; however, body foundations like this work to even out the skin tone not only on the face but on other parts of the body as well. If you have a red splotchy chest that is visible, foundations like this just have enough coverage to even out tone. I like to use Face and Body foundations for male grooming and body shoots simply because it's light enough not to be super detectable on the skin and has enough coverage to make every area look consistent. Foundations like this are good if you are going to be around water as well because they are water-resistant/waterproof.

Ah thank you Miss Jacqueline. I never thought of it that way :)

I just got my first bottle in the mail today! I have yet to use it, but I'll be bummed if they mess with it and I end up loving it. I agree with Rozberry; I feel like they're messing with something that many people agree is a very good thing.
I'll be excited if they expand their shade range though like they did transitioning from their regular HD to the Ultra HD! Pink porcelain 38 is definitely going to work, but I'd love to see something a bit paler so I don't have to work so hard to make sure I don't look like I have an orange head 😋

And Dana, I have tan lines from work and I use it to even it out :)

"Ooooh I have pantyhose on!!" 😂😂😂 I'm excited to try this out. I was going to pick up a replacement mac face & body but I think I'll wait for this now. :) Thanks for the video!

So how is the old MUFE face and body different from mac face and body? Mac is so sheer, it's like having nothing on. Looks pointless to me. Can someone explain all the rave? thanks :)

Personally I'm excitedly to hear this. I wasn't a fan of the original, it just didn't play well with my skin. I was much oilier when I tried it though so that may make the difference in my opinion. I'll be sampling the new one for sure though.

Well, not everyone wants or needs a fuller coverage foundation. The MUFE Face and Body foundation texture and finish is a bit different than MAC's Face & Body. MAC's F&B is very watery whereas the MUFE is more gel like. Coverage is about the shame: Sheer to medium. The MAC F&B has more of a natural finish whereas the MUFE F&B has more of a demi-matte like finish to it, and can be used by individuals that have normal to dry or normal to oily combo skin types. The MAC F&B... I would not put this foundation on anyone with an oily skin type. It works well for those with drier skin types or combination oily or dry.
Both foundations are waterproof; however, in my opinion, the MUFE F&B holds up better to water and it will not transfer onto clothes like the MAC F&B is prone to do. Building coverage up is also much easier with the MUFE F&B as well.
The largest difference between the 2 are how they are formulated. With MAC's F&B, the pigments are suspended in fluid, rather than being homogeneous. You have to or should shake it before use. MAC F&B will go bad is it isn't used within a specific time frame. Every time you squeeze that bottle, you are letting in contaminants in. I put my MAC F&B into.5oz bottles and store my larger bottles, which minimizes the introduction of contaminants which would enter every time you squeeze the bottle. I also squeeze the air out of the large bottles and put the cap on. It helps preserve the MAC F&B for a longer time.
In my opinion, the color range in the MAC F&B can go ashy if you try to heavily layer it whereas that problem does not exist with the MUFE Face & Body, and with the MUFE, you generally have no problem finding a great match without having to mix...the same cannot be said for MAC F&B. Some of it just comes down to personal preference, but I prefer the MUFE F&B over MAC's.

Thank you for explaining the differences Jacqueline! I've always wondered about the MAC Face and Body, but I love my MUFE too much that I can never bring myself around to MAC.
I love that the MUFE doesn't transfer on clothes either... I have had to direct traffic in the pouring, humid rain of Miami for 2 hours. I was so convinced that when I got back in my car that I was going to find foundation all over my clothes, and there wasn't a single drop! My foundation didn't even budge! I wore it to my recent cruise as well, and I totally did a big no no and didn't take part to remove my make up. Just put on some soap and water and called it a day. I was convinced for four days that I had such nice skin and when I got home and got back to my double cleansing routine I still had on my foundation :P
Nathalie, I personally like for my foundations to help compliment my skin. I'm not into the whole full coverage deal. I feel I invest too much time and money on taking care of my skin and I like for it to show through! I like to leave full coverage for my concealers. The finish on my MUFE reminds me of those models on TV doing the skin care commercials with healthy glowing skin like neutrogena's. That's just my personal preference, people will wear whatever foundation they like ☺

You're welcome Kitty. :) I agree, it's personal preference, but I tend to like foundations like the MUFE Face and Body simply because it looks very natural on the skin, not like someone painted cake batter all over their face. It evens out tone and covers minor to somewhat moderate skin imperfections. It's good stuff. :) To each their own though. ;)

Hi!
Thanks so much for the huge explanation, it's very useful. I don't have time to answer you now but I'd just like to say that like you, I prefer very sheer coverage and let my skin see through. My skin is excellent in winter, but in summer I tan and I have vitiligo on my face so sheer is NOT an option. I literally look black and white. I had the idea to try a waterproof foundation because I sweat when I'm on vacations and it's when I'm bicolor so I really need it. The rest of the year, I don't even wear foundation unless I'm going to an event or to play around.
I'll try the MUFE one in one month, hopefully I can get a hold of the old one.

Great thread Kitty, I heard it was being discontinued so I'm happy to hear they are just reformulating it. I hope it is just as good or better :)
I'm like you kitty I prefer a sheer coverage, I don't have things I need to hide so I like to let my skin peek through my foundation.
Nathalie I'm confused about your comments, in your first comment you say this foundation is sheer and pointless and now you say you prefer very sheer foundation. If you like very sheer foundation this would be a foundation you would like and not a pointless foundation.
I was recommended this foundation by Jacqueline a long time ago because it was sheer and very natural looking and I can't agree more. It's a great foundation for anyone who like natural looking face makeup.

Sabrina, I like sheer and wear sheer in winter, but a foundation like face and body, I would like to wear in summer because it's waterproof, but in summer I need full coverage to hide my vitiligo. And it's not because I need it at that season that I like it.
Another question:
What are the pros and cons of wearing a foundation like face and body either mac or mufe on the legs version some aerosol product especially made for that? I have never worn product on my legs yet, but as I get older they look less and less good and I'm seriously thinking about trying it out.

Jacqueline H.
What's the difference, or what are the pros vs. cons? Well, a lot of these aerosol (spray) foundations can be used to achieve a similar result (s).
Some of them like the Sally Hansen, are used to mimic the look of a more suntanned look or to mimic the look of stockings on the legs. The Sally Hansen is okay if you want a flat sort of matte look, it has no sheen to it and it's not something that I would use to 'enhance/and or cover skin issues' on the legs. I just don't like the look of it. I prefer the DiorSkin Airflash. The Airflash dries fairly quickly, and it has a very pretty silky looking kind of demi matte. Very realistic looking, and much more attractive than the Sally Hansen. (IMO) With the exception of the Dior Airflash most of these aerosol foundations for the body end up wasting too much product, and they are only water resistant, not waterproof like the MUFE Face and Body foundation, nor are most aerosol sprays transfer proof like the MUFE Face and Body is.

Anytime Kitty. ;)
Just some more info for anyone that is interested in these types of sprays for the body:
An aerosol spray(Sally Hansen, Dior Airflash, etc. etc.) is a mixture of two or more liquids with a gas. The liquid gets broken up into tiny tiny droplets, atomized. The atomized liquid is suspended in the gas, usually air, and liquid in suspension settle...you'll usually see it on the floor more so than the skin with products like this.
When the liquid product hits the air stream, it is the force of the moving air that breaks up and atomizes the liquid into tiny little globs, and when this tiny little glob hits the skin, it forms a dot. Now the height and weight of the given dot is determined by how quickly the drop dries before it hits the surface of the skin.
In essence, the greater air pressure the smaller the dot; hence, a drier, rougher spray texture on the skin. Now, thew lower the air pressure, the larger dot will be; hence a wetter looking, smoother spray texture on the skin. Pressure and drop size determines how much product actually contacts and adheres to the surface being sprayed. The greater pressure, less product will stick to the skin, whereas, less pressure means more product sticking to the skin.
The problem with these aerosol sprays for the face and body is the actual pressure: It's inconsistent. With some of these spray on's you either feel like your skin is being blown off or you get a ton of run. There just really isn't a happy medium, because you'll usually end up with a ton of over spray which means waste of product, and an uneven finish. Even if you look at the directions on these spray on body foundations, you'll usually have to bend your arm at a precise 90 degree angle and start spraying in a 'Z' motion across the area to get the product on the skin versus all over your clothes,in your hair, etc. etc., and then you still have to blend it out before it dries down. With a body foundation, 'you' control the amount versus the aerosol, and you won't waste product due to overspray.
I must admit, I do like the Dior Airflash, but even then, I tend to spray it into my Rae Morris Radiance brush for more precise placement and coverage. I very rarely free flow the aerosol over the skin. If I need to cover larger areas on the body, I'll either airbrush or just use a Face and Body foundation. ;)
