Hey beauties! I got a couple of ulta gift cards for Christmas, and have been wanting to try out a chemical exfoliant. Can you recommend your favorites to me? Thank you!

I would not recommend a chemical exfoliant.. It's very harsh for the skin, I would buy a natural exfoliant. Lush has some pretty good ones or you can find even better ones from Kheils

I've been loving Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion, it has 10% glycolic acid acid so it smooths out your skin so nicely.

Thank you Valerie, I'll do a little more research to make sure I'm making the best choice for me! :)

Chemical exfoliants can actually be much gentler on the skin than physical scrubs, whether they be of natural origin or not, due to the fact that they use chemicals that eat away at the dead skin cells at the surface of the skin instead of using abrasive particles that can irritate/damage skin. Look for peels with glycolic acid as a main ingredient. I like Olay purifying micro-peel for everyday/drugstore option, and recently I've been trying out Kate Somerville's Retasphere, which is more intense and contains retinol.

(I live in Canada so I don't know if they have this product at Ulta) I love the Nip + Fab glycolic pads! I just swipe them over my face before I got to bed at night, then apply my moisturizer. I haven't tried this, but I know there's a cult following on the strides pads (the red box). It does take longer to take effect then a physical exfoliant but it is a million times better for your skin. Physical exfoliation WILL lead to skin tears, which can make acne worse, and blemishes more pigmented.
